2014 Jingles Folk Art Santa

$175.00

Final Edition-

With a handful of weathered bells and the quiet character of an old New England Christmas, ingles is a wonderfully traditional Santa with the look and feel of a treasured folk-art piece passed down through generations.

Jingles is dressed in a warm cream-colored coat, richly distressed and antiqued to give it a timeworn appearance. Deep red trim runs along his coat and cuffs, while touches of muted green decorate his cape and pockets. His tall cream cap, finished with a deep red brim and pom-pom, completes his wonderfully old-fashioned appearance.

But it is the collection of  rustic jingle bells that gives Jingles his name. Gathered together on twisted copper wire, the bells hang loosely from his mittened hand. Their aged, frosted finish adds another layer of weathered Christmas character to the piece.

Standing on his hand-finished base in sturdy green boots, Jingles measures approximately           9 inches tall by 3½ inches wide.

Originally created as a hand-carved wooden Santa in 2014, Jingles was carefully molded so his character could become part of the Navone Folk Art collection. Each casting is made in pecan-shell resin and then individually hand-painted, distressed, antiqued, signed, and dated** in Frank and Sandra Navone's Newtown, Connecticut workshop.

Because each Jingles is finished individually by hand, subtle variations in the painting and antiquing give every Santa a character all his own.

Handmade with care and kindness by Frank and Sandy Navone.
